Yin / Restorative Yoga

Yin / Restorative Yoga

Yin yoga is an excellent practice to counter the stresses we may experience. It also helps to create improvements in flexibility. The postures are all static, where you wait and listen to your body. Time to settle into the pose is key in this gentle and soothing form of yoga. Allowing time for gravity to do the work to access the fascia.
The practice of yin encourages you unhook from an internal drive of succeeding, doing and achieving, turning our attention to rest on simply 'being'.

Self MFR Yoga

Using therapy balls you will be guided to roll and release fascial tissue which helps to release tension and create the relaxation response. Self myofascial release will give you the opportunity to explore your body through the direct experience of interoception, delving into your inner landscape and accessing areas of tension and then releasing them.

Ease hip and glute tension with Self Myofascial Release (SMFR)

Release and Restore: Release tension by working with your fascia

We all hold tension in our bodies, often the hips and glutes are areas of tightness due to prolonged periods of sitting. In our yoga practice we may love hip openers, or we might really dislike them due to our body feeding back that these are areas of tension!

In this workshop we will target hotspots releasing tension and restriction in the hips and glutes. Tight hips and glutes isn’t the whole story, and we will also work to release other areas of restriction, such as the lower back.

Release and restore is a profound self-healing technique blending yin and restorative yoga and self myofascial release. Join Nic in learning some SMFR techniques and release and let go of tension.

The effects are instant and you will experience changes in your body after just one session.

This workshop is a wonderful self-care practice. Self MFR compliments a yoga practice, enabling you to deepen your practice and develop an intuitive understanding of your own body.

You will be able to buy a SMFR ball after class if you wish.

When: Sunday 21st Feb

Time:- 10.00am - 12.00pm

Cost:- £20 (Early Bird), £25 after Book via Yoga Bodhi, Bath

Please note this workshop is not suitable for pregnant women.

There will be some techniques that are not suggested for inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, recent abdominal surgery, diverticulitis, hernia, mesh repair and irritable, or bowel syndrome. Please inform Nic if you have any of these in advance of the class.

Freedom For The Shoulders

Carry the weight of the world on your shoulders? The shoulders and neck can be a 'hot spot' for holding tension, especially if we spend a lot of time sitting at a desk, driving a car, spending times on our 'screens', and extended periods of nursing and carrying little ones. Even if you don't spend a lot of time sitting, shoulders can feel like they magnetise tension! Such stress and tension patterns cause restriction and a sense of hinderance of movement / mobility.

This workshop will give you the opportunity to explore through the direct experience of introception, delving into your inner landscape areas of tension. Using therapy balls you will be guided to roll and release fascial tissue and you will restore using sublime restorative and/or yin poses.
